Session Hall of the City Hall, Peñaplata, IGACOS | Pastor Jaffet Legario

It was a momentous event for Davao Mission (DM) to participate in the regular session of the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS) Sangguniang Panglungsod (SP) yesterday, February 12, 2026, at the session hall of the City Hall, Peñaplata, IGACOS.

The participation was initiated by Carl and Faye Santillan with Hon. Anne David, the first councilor of the island city. The warm reception of Vice Mayor Richard Guindulman was heartwarming, as well as of all members of the council.

Pr. Jaffet Legario of the DM Communication and Public Affairs department gave the invocation as assigned, which was appreciated by the chamber. Together with Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Clifford, they gifted all councilors and staff with Bibles and The Great Controversy books to the delight of all recepients. The group enjoyed the experience as well as the lunch fellowship which concluded the event.

Davao Mission is also delighted that some programs were initially discussed for future partnership, in community health as well as for youth activities. It is our joy as a church to be active in the holistic growth of our respective communities, where we can represent Christ through our partnership activities with our local government units. As Daniel was to king Nebuchadnezzar, so we are with our government leaders.
